Beauty Tested with Daniela Dorca

Good News! My dearest friend, model and now make-up artist Daniela Dorca will from now on share her talent, love, experience and news about beauty.  I have to say, I'm no expert when the subject is beauty!  I usually find things I like with make-up artists and friends and I end up using the same thing forever until someone introduces me to new ones. Dani will contribute and direct us in what to buy and how to use it.  If you have an Instagram account she has a must follow account @beautytested.
Stay tuned to read her posts!

Hotel Unique - Sao Paulo

As the name already implies not only describing the "Unique" design by Ruy Ohtake but also the "Unique" experience. I used to live in Sao Paulo, and I have never seen this city from this angle. Definitely my new home away from home... From the moment you walk into the Hotel, the super high ceilings, the decor, the art, the extraordinary service to the perfect welcoming into your room. How simple and genius is to serve coconut water in the coco? After long hours of flying and delays... It made me feel like the staff read my mind. The rooftop has the most amazing views of Sao Paulo (I have guz bumps just remembering!)... the most metropolitan city in Brazil, a concrete jungle of super high buildings and the Ibirapuera Park almost transformed into a live painting, just breathtaking!
I was there for only 3 days, with a full agenda of things I wanted to do in Sao Paulo and simply had no time to experience all the amenities. Besides the roof top red pool there is also a cover pool next to the gym, spa and also the restaurant on the top floor on my list for next time.
Very well located, a hot spot during Sao Paulo Fashion week...  The Unique Hotel will make your Brazil experience complete, I totally recommend!

Mirrored Sunglasses

Ray-ban (here), Wildfox ( here)
The best way to brighten your look! The options weren't good enough until now. I just got back from Brazil and there is such a fever of colored mirrored glasses, everywhere! Perfect for the summer time but I find it really sexy for winter as well, specially the colored ones, transforming the cold days and dark looks with a touch of color. Wear them now thru summer! They will come handy for the summer music festivals.
Get Inspired!

Back from Vacation!

 First of all...
I'm so lucky to have two summers per year! I just got back from an AMAZING vacation in Brazil! Almost a month traveling between Sao Paulo, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba and Rio de Janeiro; only me and my hubby, meeting friends and family along the way and going thru some adventures!
I will break  down my vacation into many posts within the next several days when I get the chance to sort out over 4000 pics I have in my computer and iPhone. Talking about iPhone... I got mugged in my home town and they took my iPhone, that really traumatized me!  I'm Brazilian and as much I know how careful I should be in Brazil I think living in the US for such a long time has made me a little innocent.  Yes!!! I was robbed in Brazil at gunpoint for the first time! Thanks to iPhone technology (http://www.apple.com/iphone/icloud/#find) and my best friend that happens to be well and bad related, if you know what Im trying to say, somehow after hitting the favela  the phone got back to my hands in less than 24 hrs! But the fear of that moment will never leave my thoughts.
Moving on...
I'm skinny but I eat! I mean... I can really eat and I love all the exotic and heavy foods from Brazil, but the problem is that my body is not used to it anymore, lol. It is even funnier to look at the collection of medication I brought back home. #noregrets  So in my last stop, Rio de Janeiro I spent a day at a local clinic with food poisoning. I learned my lesson from last time, so instead of feeling sick for 3-4 days one day of IV and proper antibiotics solved my problem and the next day I was back in the Ipanema sands; nothing really got on my way to have the best time as I'm always learning and it is all part of the experience.
We had pretty much perfect weather every day and as much I was missing home at the end I can't wait to plan the next one!
Bellow, some Instagram pics just to warm up what is about to come and above all the wonderful things I brought back in my luggage; souvenirs, gifts & lots of shopping!

Jennifer Lopez Concert

Las week I was invited to the Jennifer Lopez Concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles and had the chance, as you can see to meet her. Nothing planned in advanced, found out we had the invites at 3 PM and of course got really excited. The night couldn't have been more perfect from the beautiful Los Angeles summer weather, dinner at Katsuya and then headed to the concert with amazing seats. Enrique Iglesias was opening... I saw the last two songs (what a regret) and the energy of the concert was beyond cool! I love how some artists are a lot more amazing performing live!
Jennifer Lopez really sparkled! I mean really... from the opening song thru the entire show! The Diva, what else can I say!  She can sing, dance, act, look always amazing and on top of all that be a loving mom! I really liked the moment she shared intimate photos of her and the twins on the big screen, I even got a little teary looking at such sweet moments! The Show is a combination of past and present songs from her career, but the best for me besides the amazing dancers was the wardrobe! Feathers, crystals, fringes and chiffon composed the amazing creation designed by Zuhair Murad. Going back to sparkle we all know how much she loves to bling and it couldn't be anymore perfect for the stage, I kind of lost count how many times she changed or transformed the outfit right there on stage.
 JLo you truly rock!!!

Look of the Day - Del Mar Racetrack

Dress - Carmella, Stephanie Dress | Shoes - Casadei | Bag - 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli Mini Satchel | Sunglasses - House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea | Jewelry - Jacquie Aiche | Lips - Mac
Last weekend I took a 24 hr trip to Del Mar in Southern California to watch Horse Racing at the Del Mar Race Track. It was my first time at a track and it was actually fun even though I know nothing about horses. All I cared about was what I was going to wear and if it wasn't for my husband warning me this was a casual event I was about to show up wearing a hat just like I've seen at the Kentucky Derby.

I choose a Carmella, Stephanie dress from spring/summer collection, designed by my very talented friend Katheryn Rice. I love how versatile the dress is, it was actually my third time wearing it and it feels different every time; easy to dress up or casual with flats. It is feminine, flirty, sexy and has a vintage feel. The crepe de chine and the fit just feel amazing on. This time I choose a leopard Casadei peep toe pumps and 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Mini Satchel, my new love! And since it was a day time event House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses and Mac orange lipstick to completed the look!

Seduced by St Barts

It was my first time in St Barts but already on the top of my list of places to return! What an amazing time... From the unbelievable view from the tiny propeller plane, the charming little airport, and the driving along the coast to Guanahani Resort & Spa. We had a spectacular room facing the ocean and the food, OMG! French cuisine with a Caribbean twist and great wine... Every little detail made this vacation so special.
The Island is very small and quite delightful.  Sun, crystal clear sea and picture perfect beaches.  Far from the everyday cliches, it is beautiful preserved nature with a genuine hospitality of the islanders.
It is actually off season time, but perfect to enjoy some unforgettable experiences; you can get reservation in all restaurants on the Island in the same day and the weather couldn't be more perfect!
Twenty idyllic beaches! Of course I didn't have time to see all but that gives me one more reason to go back! Perfect place to recharge your senses to their fullest... Now you understand why I dint check my e-mails or open my computer?

What to Pack for St Barts:
Bohemian and Resort Chic vibe, keep that in mind
  • swimwear & cover-ups
  • sunscreen & mosquito repeller
  • shoes: wedges & flat sandals
  • long and short dresses
  • hat & beach bag
Restaurants I've tried
I believe all places are really amazing there. I didn't have one bad experience, I wish I had tried all!
  • Barto at Guanahani Resort & Spa
  • Nikki Beach, Sexy Salad is a must try!
  • L'Isola, in Gustavia. The best italian in the Island and the best I've ever tried!!!
  • Bonito Omg! must!!!
  • Le Ti Caribbean Tavern

Beaches
  • San Jean is by far my favorite! Beasides Nikki Beach making really easy with great food and amazing drinks you can just relax in one of the beds for only $100 euros (lol) and it's the most lagune like beach with almost no wind and really calm water
  • Saline is a perfect peace haven and you don't really need to wear anything! That's right after a little walk to get to the beach on your left is a nudist Beach.
  • Gouverneur is really beautiful!
  • Colombier, I didn't go but I heard is another really calm one.
  • Shell Beach
  • Cul de Sac
Amazing Time!!!
