Instagram Style Crush - @LuisaFere

Luisa Fernada Espinosa is a freelancer fashion stylist originally from Monterrey, Mexico now living in Laguna Beach CA.  She's the mother of 5 year old super stylish Alonso Mateo from instagram. 

What I like the most about her style is not only the desirable luxury designer pieces she owns but the she wears and the effortless feel of her looks.

Instagram Dos & Don'ts

By far my favorite Social Network at the moment is Instagram!!! And I do follow tons of people everyday and love to interact. Every time I come across a good profile I follow it! And the addiction keeps growing.... Its kind of ridiculous the amount of time I spend liking and commenting peoples photos. As an obsessed instagramer I have some tips and notes.  Please don't get me wrong, its just my opinion that I want to share!

First of all, it is PHOTO SHARING people!!!  I mean, it is always nice to read a nice quote but if you have a twitter account I think it is more appropriate to tweet. I think with all the forwarding apps people tend not to open links so type your self the quote, you will have a better chance to be retweeted if someone likes it. I think some times it's fine to post that on Instagram but I've been seeing to much lately.

WEATHER - We all have weather App's so if we want to know the weather anywhere we don't need you to take a boring screen picture. If is snowing, take a pic of your shoes in the snow, the landscape or photo of what you are wearing. If is hot an ice-cream, a thermometer on the street, anything just be creative!

RE POST - Repost is totally fine but some times it gets annoying. I know when someone asks for a picture and not to do the same and hand million of phones to the "photographer" you ask your friend to send it to you or just take a screen pic of hers/his photo but when you follow the same people it gets annoying to see the same thing over and over on your time line. Suggestion - Try to use a different filter, wait to post the next day, creativity friends!!!

SOCIAL PICS - You go out, have a few drinks and take millions of pictures with the same friends and background, trust me I've been there! Them you instagram blast. Moments that may be interesting for you and close friends might not be for the thousands of followers you love to have, right? My suggestion, if you really want to share all those moments, Pic Frame App is your way out. That applies for your repeat moments as well, unless you can be really creative... go for it, Instagram your life away! ;)

#TAGS - #tags send your pics to galleries where other people can see and maybe like or follow you but if your profile is set to private that will not work. The more creative you get the longer they will stay in the gallery. Most used #amazing #friends #love only gives you like a second there. Can you imagine the amount of people #tagging the same thing every second. You can only have 30 #tags and please use proper ones, like don't #tag #Rihanna if your pic is not Rihanna related. #boring #annoying 

FOLLOWERS - If you are not a celebrity or do something that may interest people on its on, interacting and #tag are the secret. Great Pictures + Follow Others + Like + Comment is the formula to grow your profile!

Back from Vacation!

 First of all...

I'm so lucky to have two summers per year! I just got back from an AMAZING vacation in Brazil! Almost a month traveling between Sao Paulo, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba and Rio de Janeiro; only me and my hubby, meeting friends and family along the way and going thru some adventures! 

I will break  down my vacation into many posts within the next several days when I get the chance to sort out over 4000 pics I have in my computer and iPhone. Talking about iPhone... I got mugged in my home town and they took my iPhone, that really traumatized me!  I'm Brazilian and as much I know how careful I should be in Brazil I think living in the US for such a long time has made me a little innocent.  Yes!!! I was robbed in Brazil at gunpoint for the first time! Thanks to iPhone technology (http://www.apple.com/iphone/icloud/#find) and my best friend that happens to be well and bad related, if you know what Im trying to say, somehow after hitting the favela  the phone got back to my hands in less than 24 hrs! But the fear of that moment will never leave my thoughts. 

Moving on...

I'm skinny but I eat! I mean... I can really eat and I love all the exotic and heavy foods from Brazil, but the problem is that my body is not used to it anymore, lol. It is even funnier to look at the collection of medication I brought back home. #noregrets  So in my last stop, Rio de Janeiro I spent a day at a local clinic with food poisoning. I learned my lesson from last time, so instead of feeling sick for 3-4 days one day of IV and proper antibiotics solved my problem and the next day I was back in the Ipanema sands; nothing really got on my way to have the best time as I'm always learning and it is all part of the experience. 

We had pretty much perfect weather every day and as much I was missing home at the end I can't wait to plan the next one!

Back From Vacation

I should start this post apologizing for disappearing without any announcement! Sorry... I've been traveling for the past 2 weeks and the good news is: I have a lot to share! New York, St Barts and Miami... amazing time, Omg! Need to get my head and my life organized! I don't even know where to start... Designing a proper blog, catching up on more than 700 e-mails, regular mail, new projects, organize my office, separate all materials and photos for future posts, unpack my luggage, fix my house in all aspects a house wife should... Need to make lists asap!

If you follow me on Instagram you already had a taste of what's to come... I use it as my daily diary and if you don't have an account you should get one, it's so much fun!

I am really happy to be home and really inspired to get stared! Stay tuned to read what inspired "Mi" on my Vacation!

Instagram Month

Just a little over a month ago I finally made the switch to iPhone, and it wasn't that hard at all! My iPhone is my new addiction...  As I'm discovering the world iPhone I just can't let it down.  I'm constaly playing with App’s, but Instagram is on the top of my list.
