Diane Von Furstenberg
Her life sounds like a fairytale... Fashion Designer Diane Von Furstenberg was born in Brussels, Belgium and once held the title of Princess of Furstenberg... she lost her tittle but kept the name and became the Queen of the Wrap Dress!!!
Diane Von Furstenberg served as an inspiration for Andy Warhol, Julian Opie, Chuck Close and many others and has been the subject of a number of artistic renderings.
In 2005 Diane received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Concil of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) for her impact on fashion, and one year later was elected the CFDA's president, an office she continues to hold.
I could live in DVF clothing... from day to night, vacation and work. I'm always excited to see the new collection! Easy silhouettes and always giving lots of options. Spring 2012 she focused mainly on florals... bold prints, not an easy task but always executed perfectly and became her signature.

Prabal Gurung Spring 2012
I had to change my sequel of posts due to the many things I'm working on right now.
Instead of doing a recap on my favorite designers I will publish what caught my attention during fashion week, how about that?
I love to research the history of the designer. Prabal Gurung, was born in Singapore and raised in Nepal. Moved to NY City in 1999 and interned for Donna Karan while attending Parsons. In his first year he was awarded the "Best Designer" title at the annual Parsons/FIT design competition. He worked two years with Cynthia Rowley's design team, became the design director at Bill Blass for five years and launched his first collection under his own name during New York Fashion Week in February 2009.
For Spring 2012 he's using the "Peekaboo" as his central concept. Floral motif... purple and black blooms... Sheer panels... loving it, for sure a red carpet statement!

BCBG
BCBG is showing tomorrow at NYFW; my favorite of the day!
In french it means "bon chic bon genre" or good style, good class"; created by Max Azria and directed by his wife Lubov Azria. They also own Herve Leger, Max Azria and BCBG Generation. I found some fitting pics at Lubo's Column; more color blocking for 2012!BCBG designs have movement, are feminine and sexy... I am a huge fan and own lots of BCBG clothing!

NY Fashion Week
New York Fashion week is right around the corner... official opening day is the 8th, coinciding with FNO!
I will be posting schedules the day before and choosing a designer to blog every day!
I'm not sure how much info I will find about the new collections, probably will write about the designers and illustrate with current collection fall/winter 2011-2012.

I'm an intern working with my friend to launch her line Carmella, I will talk a lot about that eventually. I will try my best to keep it up!
